Their son, Seven Adeoluwa Akinosho mirroring his father’s poise, complements the look in a miniature agbada of his own.

Vanessa, meanwhile, stuns in a show-stopping boubou and bodycon set from Wanni Fuga‘s SS25 Collection. The vibrant ensemble, a perfect blend of tradition and contemporary style, flatters her form with its bold silhouette and exquisite craftsmanship.

Their daughter, Imani Enioluwa Akinosho a vision of pure joy, echoes her mother’s elegance in a matching outfit, showcasing the heartwarming connection between the two.

Rotimi and Vanessa’s family pictures transcend the realm of fashion; they offer a powerful narrative of love, family, and cultural connection. Their decision to adorn themselves in Nigerian labels is a subtle yet powerful tribute to their heritage, a reminder of the roots that ground them.

This love story beautifully weaves together the threads of intercontinental glamour and African heritage, a testament to the universality of love and the enduring power of tradition. More than photos, these frozen moments celebrate cultural pride with declarations of love reverberating from Hollywood to Tanzania and Nigeria. The Akinoshos have us all swooning again.

Tems’ “Love Me Jeje”, Rema’s “Ozeba”, and Ayra Starr’s “Lagos Love Story” have made it into the top 10 of Rolling Stone’s Top 40 Afropop Songs of 2024. These tracks, along with others like “Jump” by Tyla, Gunna, and Skillibeng, and “Hypé” by Aya Nakamura and Ayra Starr, are part of an exciting list that showcases the best in Afropop right now.

The top 10 also features songs like “Tshwala Bam (Remix)” by TitoM, Yuppe, Burna Boy, S.N.E., and others, “Psychologique” by Tiakola, “Extra Pressure” by Bensoul and Bien, “Imithandazo” by Kabza De Small, Mthunzi, Young Stunna, and more. These songs were chosen from a pool of 40 tracks based on their impact, regional representation, and unique musical styles.

According to curators for the list—Mankaprr Conteh (Sierra Leonean-American), Nelson C.J. (Nigeria), Achille Tenkiang (Cameroonian-American), Kui Mwai (Kenya), and Madzadza Miya (South Africa)—the songs were ranked considering impact, regional representation, and our uniquely cultivated tastes.

Alongside Tems, Rema, and Ayra Starr, other Nigerian artists also feature on the list, including Wizkid with “Piece of My Heart” featuring Brent Faiyaz, Tiwa Savage’s “Forgiveness”, and Niniola with “Level”. Tracks like ‘Ogechi (Remix)’ by BoyPee, Brown Joel, Hyce, and Davido, and ‘Twe Twe’ by Kizz Daniel and Davido are also listed.

At number 1, Tems’ “Love Me Jeje” takes the crown. Mankaprr Conteh describes the track as “sweet and sunny.” Tems’ “Love Me JeJe” imbued the whole year – and on the back of a stunning debut album and oft-sold out global tour, it was, in fact, her year – with its bliss. Inspired by a radically different Nigerian hip-hop song of the same name (a 1997 tune from Seyi Sodimu), Tems completely reimagines its rap and boom bap with new lovelorn lyrics wrapped around Sodimu’s cute chorus, tinny guitar, and raw Afro drumming. The way Tems sings about her utter devotion takes the straightforward shape of other moments in her freestyle discography but leaves behind the gravity of hits like “Higher” and “Free Mind.” Intimate in its simplicity, the song is still structured well enough to be built into a grand, orchestral affair,” he says.

In another scene, he is on a white horse, dressed in a green Aso oke agbada, delivering lines like, Rise up and dance to my new Fuji Garbage; for all the boys wey feel my pain, I promise you won’t feel the same.”

The video wraps up with Zinoleesky performing at a party, surrounded by a crowd dancing to the beat.

Dunsin Oyekan has released a live performance video of “The Worshipper’s Song“, the twelfth track from his album “The Great Commission” released in April this year.

Describing the song as his favourite from the album, Dunsin Oyekan shared his thoughts on the video release:

It is a few days to the end of the year. Many are wondering how the year has gone by so quickly, people are still waiting for that prayer to be answered, wondering if God has heard them. Brothers and Sisters, God sees, knows, and hears. He just wants you to focus on Him.” He wants you to make Him the object of your desires and affections. He wants you to just worship Him. He wants you to choose Him, above everything. By choosing Him, you have everything.

“The Worshipper’s Song” is a call to believers to dwell in the presence of God and go deeper in it.

Ten years ago today, Adekunle Gold made a move that would change his life forever. He recorded the song Sade, which would later become a defining moment in his career.

It all started one evening when he was cruising in his green baby boy (his car), listening to the radio on his way home from work. As “Story of My Life” by One Direction played, he couldn’t help but be struck by its beauty.

“I thought it was beautiful,” Adekunle recalls. “I thought it was a good melody and idea. So, I pulled out my phone, recorded the melody, and left it there.”

Little did he know, that simple moment would mark the beginning of something monumental. The recording sat forgotten on his phone for a while. But years later, when Adekunle began working on an EP to reflect the stories of his life, that long-forgotten melody came rushing back to him. It was time to revisit it, and that’s when he realised just how significant it could be.

For Adekunle Gold, “Sade” became more than just a cover. It became a piece of his life, his heart, and his story.

His music has always been about sincerity: “I just make music about myself or about a story that somebody told me,” he says. “I think it’s the sincerity that works for me.”

The story of “Sade” is also one of collaboration and community. Adekunle recalls how Olaitan Dada, who produced the song, helped make it happen—producing it for free and even getting it played on the radio.

Today, as he reflects on a decade of success, with hit singles like “Rodo,” “The Life I Chose,” and albums like “Gold,” “Tequila Ever After,” he takes pride in how far he’s come—and how far his music has taken him.

Ten years later, he says, “I can finally play my own song. Thank you for all the years you have and will keep supporting me.”

Snoop Dogg attended the Los Angeles Premiere of Gladiator II with his wife Shante Broadus in winter white looks. The longtime couple complemented each other: while Snoop chose a cream coat featuring a furry white embellishment, Shante sported a white blazer with pearl-embellished sleeves.

The rapper-turned-mogul, who recently joined The Voice as a judge, layered a white sweater underneath his coat with a pair of pleated white pants, and light brown sneakers from his Skechers collab. His choice was the high-top Snoop One ‘Doggy Bonez’ model.

The classic lace-up footwear is stamped with a gothic “S”, crisscrossed dog bones, a dog head, and “1971” the year Snoop was born. He accessorized the fabulous look with an iced necklace, bejewelled aviator sunglasses, rings, and a watch.

Shante complemented her husband’s look with a bold, monochrome look. She layered a sleek, white blazer over a plunging neckline top, creating a dramatic and stylish contrast. Her wide-leg black trousers and white hat added the required elegant touch.

She kept her accessories minimal, likely opting for delicate silver jewellery. Her hair was sleek, completing the modern and sophisticated look.

It’s Tems’ final shows of the year in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, and as always, the superstar showed up looking stunning.

Rocking two gliterring outfits for both shows, the first look is a chic jumpsuit with gloves, featuring a bralette with a halter neckline. The second is a black long-sleeve gown, also shimmering in glitter. Each outfit perfectly accentuates and flatters her figure beautifully.

Of course, her look isn’t complete without her signature makeup, featruing high slanted eyebrows and sultry eyes.  Her cornrow braids added the perfect finishing touch, and the accessories she chose made just as much of a statement as the outfits themselves.

“Last shows of the year in Saudi & Dubai,” she shared in her caption.

Tems also recently dropped her music video for “Get It Right” featuring Asake, adding to her wrap-up for the year.
