Hollywood actress Sheryl Lee Ralph recently sat down with People to reflect on the defining moments of her remarkable career, starting with how she landed her very first film role in “A Piece of the Action while she was still a freshman. From her breakthrough in “Dreamgirls to becoming one of TV’s most loved stars on “Abbott Elementary,” Sheryl opens up about the valuable lessons she’s learned along the way.

Sheryl also shares what it was like being part of the first class of women at Rutgers University and her bold decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue her Hollywood dreams. She recalls the unforgettable guidance of Sidney Poitier who told her, “I’m so sorry, the industry doesn’t have anything more to offer you, because you deserve it.”

She gives a peek into her personal life too, talking about her marriage to Senator Vincent Hughes. Sheryl explains how their long-distance relationship—her in Los Angeles, him in Philadelphia—works because it is built on mutual respect and independence.

Attention, King of Boys Army! The General herself, Kemi Adetiba, has officially announced that “King of Boys 3” is coming. This will be the third instalment of the popular limited series, coming four years after the second chapter, “King of Boys: The Return of the King,” premiered on Netflix.

Today, on her 45th birthday, the award-winning filmmaker shared an exciting teaser—a video showing an incoming call from none other than the film’s lead star, Sola Sobowale. In the teaser, Sola’s powerful voice declares: “I, Sola Sobowale, believe in you. I trust you. Let’s go and show them, big time!”

Back in April 2023, Kemi Adetiba revealed she had three films in the works: “King of Boys 3,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” and “Welcome to the Fourth.” True to her word, she has been counting down to her birthday with this major announcement about the highly anticipated sequel, which is slated to premiere in December 2025.

In today’s interview, we sit down with Abisola Olutokun, a talented Nigerian-Canadian filmmaker, shaking up the world of storytelling with her unique perspective.

From her early days as a child actor to becoming a director, Abisola is carving a niche for herself in the competitive world of filmmaking. Known for her recent production The Fadugbas, she shares insights into her journey, her challenges as a diasporic filmmaker, and what keeps her going.

1. What drew you to filmmaking?
I have always regarded myself as a storyteller. I have always loved telling stories, whether it’s through blogging, writing, or speaking. Before filmmaking, I authored three amazing books that bordered on migration, family, newlyweds, and childbearing. I discovered filmmaking as another avenue to tell transformative stories, it’s a different medium, but it has the power to touch people in a unique way.

2. Tell us about The Fadugbas, what inspired it?
Having first-hand experience as an immigrant, I have been able to witness the struggles that many immigrant couples go through, especially when adjusting to life abroad. The Fadugbas was born from my desire to educate, to help maintain peace and love in relationships, but in an engaging and relatable way.

Being in Canada for over seven years, I’ve seen marriages break down due to cultural shifts and the strain of adapting to new surroundings. I wanted to explore how couples can work through those challenges and address them before they result in a breakup.

3. Before The Fadugbas, did you have a film background?
“Oh yes! I started off as a child actor at the age of 10, featuring in my first film. After that, I continued acting in church plays before moving up to lead Covenant University’s Theatre Group as their Director. I also had a similar position during Youth service at the National Christian Corpers’ Fellowship (NCCF).

Later, I honed my skills by taking acting classes at Radiance Toronto. Interestingly, the inspiration for my first book came while attending the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), I was part of the Filmstars project in Toronto. My first short film, Japa Wahala, came out in 2023 and that was an incredible learning experience.

4. What do you think makes a good movie?
A good movie is driven by a strong and relatable story. It all comes down to the narrative. But, it’s also about the right cast and crew that understand the vision of the story and are committed to delivering accurately.

You can have the perfect story, but without the right actors to bring it to life, it might not convey the emotions and depth that the story deserves.

5. What are some challenges you faced producing The Fadugbas?
As a new filmmaker, I faced quite a few challenges. I had to wear my hat as a project manager to navigate one of the biggest hurdles in the production which included managing the different phases of the projects, logistics and resources, cast and crew scattered across different locations while trying to maintain the authenticity of the story. Budgeting is always a challenge, especially for independent filmmakers, and getting the right team together for a project is not always easy but perseverance and passion helped me push through.

6. What sort of movies would you like to work on but haven’t had the opportunity yet?
There are many genres I would love to explore. I’m particularly interested in historical dramas and documentaries that explore African heritage, as well as films that tackle social issues like immigration, love and family.

7. What inspires you as a person?
My main source of inspiration is God. Then people I meet, the stories I hear, and the resilience of communities. I’m also inspired by the ability to make a positive impact through storytelling, whether it’s through a film, a book, or an article. I want my work to spur reflection and spark change.

8. Tell us about Abisola, what other things do you do apart from filmmaking?
Besides filmmaking, I am also a certified project manager and a social entrepreneur. I’ve published three books and have been writing & creating content for over 5 years now. My first book is Travelling Out which explores stories of immigrants, a guide for new migrants.

Afterwards, I authored 365 Days Married and also Journey to Motherhood. As a social entrepreneur, I founded The Hatching Lady in 2017, a platform created to empower youths and women from the ages of 18-35 years old. Through it, we have hosted conferences, trainings, and charity outreaches in Nigeria & Canada. I am passionate about helping others tell their stories and I enjoy mentoring young people. I’m also a bit of a foodie, so when I’m not working on a film project, I like to try out the different cuisines in my community.

9. What are some things that make you happy?
Spending time with my family, connecting with fellow creatives, and seeing my work resonate with people. There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing that your film has made a difference, no matter how small. Knowing I am also working in line with God’s perfect will makes me really happy. Also, I love good food and good movies!

10. What’s your style?
My style is rooted in authenticity and emotional depth. I try to create content that feels real and speaks to the human experience. I don’t like to shy away from difficult topics, but I aim to present them in a way that is engaging and relatable. I want the audience to feel something, whether it’s joy, sorrow, or reflection.

11. Any words for people reading this?
Never underestimate the power of your story. Every individual has something unique to offer. If you have a passion, don’t let anything stop you. Keep pushing forward, even when the challenges seem impossible. And remember, sometimes the hardest paths lead to the most beautiful destinations.

12. Would you like to give a shout-out to some people who contributed to the success of The Fadugbas?
Absolutely! To the best cast and crew that made this production happen in Canada, thank you so much for trusting me with your time and skills. Major shout out to Olutokun Emmanuel – our super fantastic DOP, Olowofela Johnson, the incredibly talented actor who played – Fadugba, Semilloore Atewelogun our super amazing Therapist, Tolu Adekunle and Fadekemi E.O.J our awesome camera crew members, Bolaji Opakunbi our editor.

Finally, I would like to appreciate my beautiful family, my mum, dad, sisters, brothers, my amazing husband and my son. The miracle of his birth is like air to my wings that keeps me dreaming and wanting me to live fully and do the things God has written about me.

“This is a first award I was told that I won that made me cry,” Viola shared with USA TODAY bahead of the ceremony.  “Little Viola showed up who just never could imagine that she could evolve into this life, into this career. I just feel incredibly grateful today.”

Fellow Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Meryl Streep presented the award, a gesture Viola said added “to the magic” of the night. On stage, she delivered a captivating 16-minute speech without a teleprompter, sharing her journey from a turbulent childhood to Hollywood stardom. She reflected on how her upbringing shaped her craft and how financial necessity influenced her choice of roles in her early career.

As anticpation builds for the 82nd Golden Globes airing live later today in the evening, Viola Davis will also take the stage as a presenter, alongside Elton JohnDwayne Johnson, and Vin Diesel and more.

Sharing photos from the night on social media, Viola’s caption was as emotional as her speech:

Being an actor has always been the cosmic carrot to a much higher, deeper journey. I’ve ALWAYS been in search of connection to people but also to…..myself. I found it through artistry. It’s a sacred, magical tool that has elevated my life in every way. It’s why I fight for elevated content for people of color. I fight for characters who otherwise wouldn’t be seen. I fight. There are no words to describe this honor. Only little Viola can…..and she is squealing! She is basking in worthiness. And she feels deeply, deeply SEEN

In this edition of “Meet the Star,” a segment dedicated to spotlighting talents in Nollywood, OkuSaga Adeoluwa takes us through his diverse career in entertainment—spanning art, reality TV, and films. He also discusses his role in the upcoming second season of “Anikulapo,” his ‘couple chronicles’ with Liquorose, and much more.

In our previous feature, we caught up with Shamz Garuba, who talked to his multifaceted career as a model and actor, how his modelling skills has helped his acting, his latest movie “A Night in 2005,” and moreIf you missed it, catch up here.

How would we describe Saga Adeoluwa? One word: multitalented. Saga first grabbed our attention on Big Brother Naija, and since then, he’s proven time and time again that there’s no stopping him.

Saga is living proof that being gifted in many areas isn’t a limitation—it’s a blessing. When he stepped into the entertainment world after Big Brother, those who knew him best kept urging him to focus on just one thing. But Saga couldn’t—and wouldn’t—abandon the other parts of himself. And aren’t we glad he didn’t? Imagine missing out on Saga the actor, who lit up screens in “The Men’s Club”, or the one we’re counting down to see in “Anikulapo.” What about Saga the hyperrealist artist, whose work speaks for itself? And let’s not forget the sides of him we’re yet to meet.

“I couldn’t just abandon the other parts of me. So, I decided to go for it all,” he told us. And go for it, he did!

In our chat with Saga, he opened up about his creative journey and what excites him most about acting. He talked about “The Men’s Club: The Next Generation,” his first Amazon Prime project (now streaming), and shared some practical advice on creativity and self-expression. He even revealed which directors he dreams of working with and so much more.

Oh, and here’s a fun fact—Saga wasn’t always in entertainment. He started out as an engineer with a regular 9-to-5. If there’s one thing his story teaches us, it’s that reinvention is always possible.

Dive into our lively conversation with Saga Adeoluwa below—you’re going to love it!

***

Hi Saga, it’s so great to have you here. How are you doing today?

Well, I’m doing okay. It’s been a very long day, you know, from set and everything—it’s just been crazy. I never really expected that being an actor would be so stressful, but I’m still grateful. It’s been a productive day. Thank you.

Let’s dive right in—your latest project, Anikulapo Season 2. We’re excited to see you join the cast! How does it feel to step into such a culturally rich and historical series?

When I got the message from Kunle Afolayan inviting me to be part of the project, I was overwhelmed with excitement—almost like a vein in my head popped, but in the best way possible. I was so thrilled that I called all my close friends and family members to share the news even before I returned his message or call.

It was easily one of the best moments of my year.

As for being part of such a culturally rich series, it’s incredibly fulfilling. If you’re familiar with me or my brand, you’d know how deeply connected I am to Yoruba culture. While I may not embody it in every way, I strive to express my Yoruba heritage through my dressing, my art, and the conversations I have. I’m passionate about promoting Yoruba culture to the best of my ability.

So, being part of this series was a truly proud moment for me, and I’m incredibly honoured to have been involved.

You’ve had such a diverse career in entertainment—art, reality TV, acting. When it comes to acting, what excites you the most compared to the other aspects of your creative journey?

At my core, I’m a performer, and acting is performance in its rawest form. I express myself with every limb, muscle, and emotion—my body is my paintbrush, and the screen is my canvas. That level of expression excites me.

I’ve taken on diverse roles, from an Igbo carpenter to a respected prince in Anikulapo, a broken-hearted husband, and a spoiled child. I love how acting allows me to explore such a wide range of characters. As a performer, the immediate reward of audience reaction—seeing people enjoy my work—is incredibly fulfilling. Unlike other art forms, the applause comes fast after a movie is released, and that connection with the audience is something I really enjoy.

Acting works for me because it feeds that need to perform and be seen.

Speaking of your journey, you’ve been in the public eye since your time on Big Brother Naija, and now you’re diving deeper into acting. How would you say your approach to fame and your craft has evolved since your BBNaija days?

Well, my journey has been quite interesting. First of all, I had no preparation for this. I was an engineer, working 9-5, mostly offshore. I was a well completions engineer—hands-on, ensuring wells were in place, working optimally, and free from safety issues.

Entertainment was never on my radar. I didn’t even watch much TV, and even now, I don’t know many people in the entertainment industry because I was never part of it. Entering Big Brother Naija was a bold move for me, and leaving the show felt like being thrown into deep waters. I’ve had to fight to stay afloat.

Over time, I’ve learned a lot about my brand, how people perceive me, and how to portray and carry myself. I’ve gained a deeper understanding of socialising within the industry and building connections. I’ve also come to value community, which includes my family, fan base, and supporters. Developing my skills has been a key focus, ensuring I always put my best foot forward. As a performer, you have to show up, deliver, and always come correct.

All these lessons became invaluable when I finally started acting last year. I needed these skills in my arsenal to be the best I can be, and they’ve made a significant difference in my journey so far.

If your life at this moment were a scene from a movie, which movie would it be? It could be one you’ve acted in or one you’ve watched.

This is an interesting question. I often tell people that, above all else, my life is about the pursuit of happiness. If my life were a scene from a movie, it would undoubtedly be The Pursuit of Happyness.

Like the protagonist, I’m just someone fighting to survive—fighting to find joy, to put food on the table, to make a name for myself, and to ensure my family’s happiness. That relentless fight is what defines me.

You’re constantly evolving, and it’s so inspiring. What advice would you give to young men looking to break into the entertainment industry, especially those who, like you, have multiple talents?

When I started out after Big Brother, I was still figuring things out. Everyone close to me knew about my many talents, but they kept telling me, “Focus on one thing.” I couldn’t do that—I couldn’t just abandon the other parts of me. So, I decided to go for it all.

The first piece of advice I’d give anyone is this: there’s really no formula for success. One person can succeed through method A, another through method B, and both can achieve different results that work for them. The most important thing is to believe in yourself and your dreams. Success doesn’t happen by chance. Everyone who has achieved something great started by having faith in themselves.

If you lose that belief, you won’t take the steps needed to reach your goals. You’ll miss out on opportunities because you didn’t position yourself in the right place. But when you believe in yourself, you’ll keep pushing, showing up, and eventually getting where you need to be.

So, my advice is simple: always believe in yourself.

Out of all the projects you’ve worked on so far, which one has been the most exciting for you?

The most exciting project I’ve worked on so far has to be Anikulapo. It’s the biggest platform I’ve ever been a part of, and the experience was incredible. Before that, I was on The Men’s Club, which was also a huge milestone for me at the time—it was the biggest project I had done up until then.

Earlier, I worked on Afrobeat Superstar, though it hasn’t been released yet. Still, out of everything, Anikulapo has been the most thrilling project for me. I honestly can’t wait for you all to see what I’ve been working on—it’s amazing, and I know it’s going to blow your mind. You’re going to love it!

With all your projects, you must stay busy. What’s your perfect way to unwind when you get some downtime?

Saying I’m busy is an understatement—my schedule even worries my father. My family is constantly concerned because I barely get any time to rest.

On my days off, I always prioritise going to the gym. Contrary to popular belief, working out isn’t stressful; it’s actually a way for me to unwind and heal. For me, the gym is a form of self-love. A typical day off starts with breakfast, followed by a gym session. Afterward, I head home, take a shower, and maybe watch a movie. Sometimes, I just sit quietly in the dark, reflect, and plan for the week ahead.

My downtime usually revolves around gym sessions, music, movies, and occasionally sketching or painting. While sketching and painting feel more like work than rest, they still serve as a creative outlet that helps me recharge.

If you could compare your next film to a dish, what dish would that be?

That would definitely be creamy pasta.

The film, The Men’s Club, is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on December 4. I’d call it creamy pasta with a lot of prawns, chicken, and different types of protein—not just prawns and chicken, but also hot dogs, sausages, and all that good stuff.

It’s very tasty, very creamy, very beautiful, and all of that.

You and Liquorose have become quite the dynamic duo with your ‘couple chronicles’ recreations of movie scenes. If you were introducing yourself to someone new, which one would you recommend they watch first?

Oh yes, Couple Chronicles—it’s definitely my most successful endeavour. I’m so proud of it, and I truly appreciate all the love and support it gets. It’s something I’m incredibly proud of, not just for myself but also for Liquorose. We work tirelessly to bring it to you every Sunday—it’s no easy feat!

If I were introducing Couple Chronicles to someone new, I’d definitely recommend starting with the Bridgerton episode. It’s such a beautiful and emotional piece, with the whole “Do you love me? I love you” vibe—it’s unforgettable. Another great one is the Yoruba episode where we’re hilariously cussing each other out—it’s one of our earliest and still a classic.

Then there’s the English-Nigerian episode, where she’s telling me to stop watching football and focus on her. The whole Arsenal and Barcelona analogy, scoring goals versus watching matches—it’s absolutely hilarious! And of course, the recreation of Idris Elba and Beyoncé—so powerful and unforgettable. Those are definitely my top four episodes!

If you could shoot your shot with any director you’d love to work with, who would it be? You never know, they might be reading this right now!

One director I really want to work with—I’ve worked with her before, but it was on a very minor role, and I would like something major—is Jade Osiberu. She’s phenomenal.

Also, BAP, Bolanle Austen-Peters, she’s amazing. I’ve worked with my dream director, Kunle Afolayan, and I’m very proud of myself for doing that.

Who else again? A lot of them. Let me not mention all, but the two—BAP and Jade Osiberu—are the ones I want to work with right away. So, please, give me a call.

So, what’s next for Saga? What should we be on the lookout for?

What’s next for me right now? Uh, I have a lot of YouTube projects coming out almost twice a month, right about that frequency. So please, you can go to YouTube and search my name, Sagas Movies, and you’ll see a handful that you can watch.

And I said, I have my first Amazon Prime project coming up in December—”The Men’s Club: The Next Generation.” It is so amazing, you’re gonna love it.

And then I did a film with Jade Osiberu—”Christmas in Lagos“—also out on Amazon Prime in December. You’re gonna love it as well.

In BAFTA’s “My Film Firsts,” Cynthia Erivo takes us on a lively trip down memory lane, sharing the moments that shaped her remarkable career. It all began with a simple school nativity play—who knew that playing Mary could spark a love for acting that would one day lead her to Hollywood?

Cynthia talks about her first cinematic obsessions, the musicals that stole her heart, and the tearjerker films that left her sobbing. She also gives us a behind-the-scenes peek at her biggest career highlights—from stepping into Celie’s shoes in “The Colour Purple” to bringing Harriet Tubman’s legacy to life in “Harriet,” and the pure magic of her first day on the set of  “Wicked.”

It’s an inspiring and joy-filled reflection on her journey to stardom, showing us how those early “firsts” led to her becoming the powerhouse performer we know today.

For Aaron Pierre, stepping into the role of “Mufasa” in Disney’s “The Lion Kingprequel is more than just another acting job—it’s the realisation of a lifelong dream. In a recent interview on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Aaron reflected on his early passion for acting, the unwavering support from his family, and the immense honour of following in the footsteps of legends like James Earl Jones.

Aaron shared how his acting journey began at the age of 14 or 15 when he first got involved in school drama productions. While he didn’t know where it would ultimately take him, those early experiences sparked a deep love for the craft. With his father being an actor and his mother a project manager, Aaron was always encouraged to pursue his dreams.

As the conversation shifted to his role as Mufasa, Aaron spoke with great admiration for James Earl Jones, the iconic actor who originally brought the character to life.

Of course I took an enormous amount of James Earl Jojes within the context of Mufasa and the Lion King but actually even outside of that, I have been inspired greatly by James Earl even before I became professional, from his extensive filmography, his extensive work and voice work on the stage. For me James Earl Jones is the top of the mountain and I have always studied and observe him. I love him.

Watch the full conversation below to discover more about Aaron’s journey, his inspirations, and what it truly means to follow in the footsteps of a legend.

Meanwhile Ini Edo was all about the Owambe glam in a red sequined dress and gele that’s perfect for your Owambe style inspiration. To fit in with the crowd, she invents elaborate stories about her wealth and social standing. This new film shifts focus to the world of social media influencers and the “soft life” culture. It humorously explores the consequences of living a fabricated, extravagant lifestyle in the pursuit of online fame.

The film stars Toyin Abraham alongside Chimezie Imo, Bimbo Ademoye, Odunlade Adekola, Olumide Oworu, Ini Edo, Kiekie, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, Ronke Odusanya, Bimbo Akintola, Lizzy Jay, Kolawole Ajeyemi, Yhemo Lee, Portable, and more.

“Alakada: Bad & Boujee” hits cinemas nationwide on 18th December.

This project has been a transformative experience, marked by immense growth and learning.

Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of wearing multiple hats, from spare heading the vision @thebluutv as Project Manager to stepping into the roles of Producer, Director, and Casting Director.

This journey has been demanding, yet profoundly rewarding. I am deeply proud of our collective achievement.

When two Hollywood powerhouses like Tyler Perry and Kerry Washington sit down for an honest, heartfelt chat, you know it’s going to be worth watching. Their recent conversation for People Magazine delivered just that—a delightful mix of laughs, admiration, and deeper reflections on their craft and creative journeys.

From funny first impressions to stories about personal growth and the lasting influence of legends like Sidney Poitier, this chat gave us an intimate glimpse into their world—and their friendship.

Tyler kicked things off with a humorous recollection of his first encounter with Kerry. Or rather, the first time he “heard” her. He admitted that her voice made an impression long before he actually saw her. “My first memory of meeting Kerry Washington was how loud she was. I just remember hearing your voice before I saw your face,” Tyler joked.

Kerry couldn’t help but laugh before sharing her own admiration for Tyler. Reflecting on his work ethic and directorial approach, she offered a glowing tribute to his leadership. “I was so moved and inspired by your elegant leadership. I have never seen a director so dignified and respectful of themselves. I was really blown away by the dignity you walked with in the world,” she said.

The conversation also took an introspective turn when Tyler spoke about the late Sidney Poitier, a legendary actor who shaped his creative philosophy. Tyler’s reflections highlighted how deeply Poitier’s legacy influences his work today, including his latest project with Kerry, “The Six Triple Eight.”

This isn’t the first time Tyler and Kerry have worked together. Their collaborative journey spans three films: “For Colored Girls,” “Peeples,” and more. Their friendship and mutual respect are the threads that tie their work together, making their projects as impactful as they are memorable.

It’s not every day we see a young star like Blue Ivy take the spotlight, however at the “Mufasa: The Lion King” premiere, that’s exactly what happened. The 12-year-old made her debut as the voice of Kiara in the animated prequel, and it was clear this was her moment to shine.

Accompanied by her mum Beyoncé, they both looked glamourous on the red carpet, stunning in metallic gold gowns. Beyoncé’s dress was bold and artistic, with intricate circular details and a high slit that added some drama. Blue Ivy, on the other hand, shone in her strapless ball gown, a perfect match to her mum’s regal aesthetic. Together, they were the epitome of chic and style.

Beyoncé was every bit the proud mum, soaking up her daughter’s big night. On Instagram, she shared her joy, writing:

My gorgeous baby girl. This is your night. You worked hard and you did such a beautiful job as the voice of Kiara. Your family could not be prouder. Keep shining.

Do you remember the first time you saw Eucharia Anunobi on your TV screen? She had that rare ability to make you stop and watch, completely captivated. From her early days in the ‘90s, Eucharia quickly rose to become one of Nollywood’s most unforgettable stars. Whether she played a fierce gangster or a commanding powerhouse, her performances were impossible to ignore.

And let’s not forget her style. It wasn’t just her acting that kept us hooked; it was the flair she brought to every appearance. The dramatic jewellery, the perfectly arched eyebrows, the flawless wigs—she made being extra look effortlessly chic. Watching her, you couldn’t help but wonder: how did she make drama look so glamorous?

No matter the role, Eucharia brought a mix of elegance, sass, and intensity that demanded your attention. She could play the villain, the fighter, or the flawed human being with such heart and style that it’s no surprise she’s considered one of Nollywood’s greatest. Her ability to make you laugh, cry, or feel a little scared—all while looking like she belonged on a magazine cover—was unmatched.

Today, we’re taking a trip down memory lane to celebrate five of her most iconic roles that prove why she’s a Nollywood legend:

Abuja Connection

In “Abuja Connection,” Eucharia plays a no-nonsense gangster pimp caught in a power clash with Sharon Chukwuka. These two women are locked in an epic battle, and Eucharia’s character is the kind who takes no prisoners. Watching her is a masterclass in playing a powerful, ambitious woman with serious edge.

August Meeting

Who could forget “August Meeting,” one of Nollywood’s ultimate drama fests? This film is one of those classic Nollywood tales that mixes ambition with drama. Eucharia plays Lorlor Odoziaku Amaka, a fierce contender for the presidency of the Umuoriji women’s community. With the upcoming August meeting of the Umuoriji women, Amaka and Angela are in a fierce battle to win the votes of the members. The rivalry between these two escalates to the point of using supernatural tactics, and Eucharia brings all the tension, making you both love and fear her at the same time.

Born Again

In “Born Again,” Eucharia takes on the role of Blessing, a woman who pretends to be a “born-again” Christian hopes of landing a husband. But things get messy fast when she moves in with a church member’s family and starts an affair with her host’s husband. Eucharia’s portrayal is dramatic and intense, as she plays a woman who uses faith as a disguise to get what she wants, only to get caught in her own lies.

What Every Woman Wants

In “What Every Woman Wants,” we see Eucharia as Agatha, a career-driven woman whose ambition comes at the cost of her family life. The struggle between wanting to make it big and maintaining your personal relationships is something so many of us can relate to. Eucharia brings that relatable tension to life with depth and emotion that leaves you thinking.

Waste Collectors

And then there’s “Waste Collectors,” where Eucharia plays Sophia, a woman tangled up with a secret society and making money through dark means. Mysterious, sharp, and just a little dangerous, Sophia is a testament to Eucharia’s versatility.

Hollywood’s very own Kerry Washington just had a moment that dreams are made of. Yesterday, the “Scandal” actress was honoured with a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the event was filled with love, pride, and celebration.

Held in Los Angeles, the ceremony was as heartwarming as they come. Kerry’s proud parents, Earl and Valerie Washington, were front and centre, cheering her on, while her close friends and mentors Tyler Perry and Shonda Rhimes brought the sweetest energy with their touching speeches.

“She is incredibly kind, giving, and powerful, and her heart speaks first,” Tyler said, leaving everyone feeling the love. Shonda also celebrated Kerry’s authenticity and strength, saying:

“You’re strong. You’re determined. You’re never compromising in your values. You’re always holding onto who you are, despite all of this crazy attention. She’s a born leader. She’s always taking care of everybody, always the hardest worker. She’s passionate about the roles she plays, about her philanthropy, about her activism, about the world. And she is passionate about her family.”

We couldn’t agree more—Kerry is the definition of a trailblazer. From her Emmy-winning turn as Olivia Pope in “Scandal” to unforgettable roles in “Save the Last Dance” and “American Son,” she’s been serving excellence for three decades.

But the most touching part of the day was when Kerry shared that this wasn’t just her dream—it was her dad’s too.

“My mum and dad also taught me to dream. They taught me to believe and pursue, and here we are. Mum, Dad, can you believe it? An actual star” she said, smiling. “You made a wish and it came true… And now I’m swirling in a galaxy of stars, all encouraging each other to shine brightly and light the way for someone else’s dreams.”

Of course, Kerry had to bring us along for the ride, sharing the magical moment on Instagram:

Feeling like the luckiest girl in the galaxy 💫 deeply grateful for this immense honor ❤ thank you to every actor, writer, producer, director, casting director, agent, manager, crew member and most especially to every single viewer and fan! THANK YOU 🙏🏾 When you visit Hollywood, come find this ⭐ and know that it’s not my ⭐ it’s OUR star because you helped make this dream come true. #HollywoodWalkOfFame

Just when we thought our Monday couldn’t get any better, the cast of “Blood Sisters” Season 2 came through with the sweetest surprise!

Picture this: you’re casually scrolling through your phone, and boom – some of your favourite Nollywood actors are dropping the most heartwarming words of encouragement to start your week off right. From “You’re amazing, don’t ever forget” to “Keep going, you’ll get there,” they reminded us that a little bit of kindness can go a long way. And when they said it in their own native dialects? Total chef’s kiss.

These simple, yet powerful messages felt extra special when spoken, and they were a perfect reminder of the strength, beauty, and courage we all carry. It’s safe to say that it made our day a whole lot brighter.
